Determining the anatomy of a spam email

Always inspect a link before clicking on it: 

Hover your mouse cursor over a link and then look at the bottom left corner of the screen. You will see the destination URL of the link. 

In the example below we can determine this email is certainly spam:

  1. The sender is using a Top Level Domain (TLD) name from Brazil.
  2. The intended link destination is using a Top Level Domain (TLD) name from India.

Neither of these counties match the context of the email and this can help determine that this email is suspicious.
